Colleges and Universities by Affiliation

A vast number of colleges and universities in America were initially organized based on the religious and cultural beliefs of thier founders. Though less predominant nowadays, the government and independant accrediting boards continue to recognize several official affiliations. Schools with these affiliations continue to hold true to the values on which they were founded and underwhich they operated for so many years. Begin your college and university research by selecting the affiliation most important to you...

Religious
Colleges and universities that were founded based on the beliefs and ceremonies of one of over 50 churches. Many of these institutions still hold their affiliated religious and cultural values in high regard.

Tribal
Together, fully recognized tribal colleges and universities educate approximately 30,000 full and part-time students of predominantly Native American descent.

Historically Black
Colleges and universities which have historically maintained majority black student populations.

If none of the above affiliations apply to you, or if you've arrived at this page by error, we encourage you find a college or university by selecting other criteria. Begin your research from the college and university homepage where you'll have the opportunity to easily navigate a list of over 11,000 institutions by selecting a targeted location, name, degree, or affiliation.
